About the agency

OUR WHY

Grief reshapes attention, memory, trust, decision-making, productivity, and identity because the human brain evolved for conditions we no longer live in. For most of our history, survival depended on stable environments, close social bonds, and a predictable sense of safety—conditions that are now constantly disrupted. It shows up in workplaces, products, healthcare, and technologies. Most organizations are already dealing with it, and yet few are equipped to respond well. Hypmthr exists to close that gap.

OUR FOUNDER

Breonna Danielle Rodriguez Delgrosso, GC-C is a research-led strategist, Thanatologist, and certified Grief Counselor from the American Institute of Health Care Professionals. She is the founder of Hypmthr, a creative agency and grief lab focused on translating complex human realities into practical strategies organizations can actually implement.

With over two decades of experience inside large institutions and cultural organizations, Breonna has led work spanning research, design, storytelling, and product strategy for some of the most recognized brands in the world. She is a two-time Emmy-nominated creative leader and has held senior roles at Google and Sesame Street, where her work helped shape ambiguity into products, narratives, and frameworks used at scale.

In 2024, she stepped away from her senior leadership role at Google after recognizing a persistent gap: death, grief, and caregiving were already shaping workplaces, healthcare systems, and products—but were being addressed without the rigor, design discipline, or institutional fluency applied to other high-stakes domains. She spend the following year getting her masters degree in Thanatology, diving deeply into the academic spaces of death, grief and loss.

Her work is centered on a simple premise: grief is already shaping our systems—we just haven’t learned how to see it. Through research, training, and design, she helps organizations and individuals recognize what is happening beneath the surface, and respond with greater clarity, stability, and care.

MISSION

WHAT WE DO

Hypmthr’s mission is to help people work with grief, death, caregiving, and aging as ongoing conditions — not occasional disruptions.

We translate complex human realities into strategies, tools, and educational frameworks that can be used in workplaces, care systems, and everyday life. Our work is grounded in how systems function under pressure: limited time, legal constraints, cultural risk, and competing priorities. The goal is clarity that holds up in practice.

We believe grief literacy is a form of human and organizational competence. When people and institutions design for what is already present—rather than avoiding it—they make better decisions, build more credible systems, and create cultures that are both humane and resilient. Hypmthr exists to make that level of rigor possible, without flattening human experience or adding unnecessary burden.

1:1 Work

For individuals navigating complex transitions, grief, or decisions that don’t fit cleanly into existing frameworks. This is not traditional coaching. It is a focused, one-on-one space to think through what is happening beneath the surface—grounded in how the brain processes loss, change, and attachment. Breonna is a certified grief counselor with the American Institute of Health Care Professionals, and can bring swift clarity to situations that feel unclear, overwhelming, or difficult to name, and to identify responses that hold up in real life.
